      One suggestion would be that over software, we could make all radios always receive audio to master and only connect the voice to the one you want. It could be interesting to have that feature.

    I'm 72 now. I started to learn kiting about 8 years ago. First thing that happened was a divorce. Next I had to move... this caused a delay for a few years. All this stuff he's talking about (Most of it) happened but I had other guys around who knew what to do. Getting pro lessons is a must. WATCHING HUNDREDS OF HOURS ON YOU TUBE IS A MUST ! Dedicate yourself to the effort, equipment and get to an area where you can do it often. North Carolina is where I am now and it's very good because of the shallow lagoons and outer banks area. Location is the most important because the wind is the engine and frequency of go out is necessary especially in the first 5 years. Tides. wind direction, obstacles and upwind wind shadow effects, downwind obstacles and dangers all matter very much. Don't even ever think you can learn this alone. You should be able to get with friends to do it as much as possible and have a radio earpiece and coach telling you what to do with remote communication. This will accelerate your ability and stop all the bad habits from ever forming in the first place. I picked the wrong location and now have to move to a better one. There are many tricks and tips you NEED to know or you could easily get killed. I have seen some very bad accidents. The slower you go the less dangerous. I have Broke Ribs ~ Got Friction Burns, and suffered many drags and near drownings. GET A CREW FOR THE FIRST 5 YEARS... Not going is much safer than just going and if the beach is crowded forget it. There is a very good reason to be at the exact place at the right time . I thought I'd never find anything as good as surfing and am a life long surfer. Kiting is actually much BETTER ! OMG ~ SOOO GLAD I KEPT AT IT !! soon I'll be kiting into waves and really being good. ALOHA !

  • @wingsurfcamp8240
    @wingsurfcamp8240 9 місяців тому

    Yes. Safer for the rider and the kite. Much less travel downwind during mistakes which means much less walking back upwind. Makes the beginner much better at flying, body dragging, and easier to practice self rescue.

    Hello, thx for video. I would learn to my son, 12yo and 40Kg. I think about this model. Do you think it's possible to him to learn the first edge and upwind with a Viron 4m² ? We Ride near Leucate in France. 15 to 30 knts (and more, but not for a child).

    • @KookProofActivityCenter
      @KookProofActivityCenter 9 місяців тому

      Thank you for reaching out. Considering your son's age and weight, I'd recommend looking into the hybrid model, specifically the 3.5m² version. It offers superior depower compared to the Viron, which I believe would be more suitable for a young learner. I've created a video review on that particular kite, which might provide more insight. I genuinely believe it would be a great fit for your son, especially in the wind conditions you mentioned near Leucate. Stay safe and happy kiting!

    I understand it’s a single skin and I don’t believe it’s gonna hit 20-30’ or 7-9m. What kind of height can you get with this kite and is it good for non boosted jumps (ie, back/front roll, butter slides, hand drags/plant, dark slides, and others)

    • @KookProofActivityCenter

    Hi Tiego With your experience what minimum length of line and type/size of kite would you recommend to ride on a small lake with very unstable winds and very poor launching zone with many obstacles ! I am quite skilled of piloting kites and I may use foil kite of 10m2 or 15m2 that I use with good sea wind with 17m lines. I may also use inflatable kites of various size if it is more appropriate. Is it possible to use them with 5m lines with variable and quite light winds (10/15kts, gust at 20)? Which board do I need to be able to ride upwind? Is it possible with a twintip? Thank you! 😎

    • @KookProofActivityCenter
      @KookProofActivityCenter Рік тому

      It isn't easy to give a definitive answer without observing the exact conditions. However, for gusty winds, it's advisable to use a normal line size. Nonetheless, this could pose a challenge if your launch zone is not ideal. Using very short lines in very gusty conditions can make riding extremely difficult. In the gusty condition, I would advise a big board. It can be a twin-tip, but make it bigger so you can continue riding in the lulls.

      I used both and it works with any 4 line bar without a problem

      Did you notice any difference when using high and low V bars?

    Thanks for the video! Based on this video I decided to buy the 3.5m and sell my peak5 4m. Unfortunately the low end of the 3.5m hybrid is for me 18-20 knots (95kg and 1150 front wing) and with the peak5 4m it is 15knots. It’s an awesome kite but I am disappointed with the low end. Now doubting if I would change tot a 5.5m.

      I still haven’t gotten the chance to test out the bigger sizes but if you had a 4 and want a bit more low end maybe the 5.5 is the way to go to complement the 3,5 you have. They are still great kites.
